Demon Deacons to compete against an elite field in Madison

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest men's and women's cross country teams will be in action Saturday as they face an elite field at the 2018 Wisconsin Pre-Nationals. The meet will be held at the Thomas Zimmer Championship Cross Country Course, home to this year's NCAA Championship meet.
The field for each gender has been split into two evenly-seeded races. Both the Demon Deacon men and women will compete in the White Race of their gender, with the women's race at 10:45 am CT and the men's race at 12:15 pm CT.
In the 6K women's race, the Demon Deacons will run a squad of Mimi Smith, Johanna Schulz, Hannah Brookover, Samantha Halvorsen, Elise Wright and Meredith Helton. In the 8K men's race, Wake Forest will be represented by Zach Facioni, Mitchell Day, Craig Corti, Daniel Viegra, Jack Tiernan and Joaquin Martinez de Pinillos.
The Pre-Nationals are the Demon Deacons' final meet before the ACC Championships on October 26.
