Emilia Migliaccio tied for second place after the opening round

CHAPEL HILL, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's golf team began play Friday at the Tar Heel Invitational. The Demon Deacons shot 1-over during the first round at the Finley Golf Course and are tied for fifth place after the opening day of the tournament.
Emilia Migliaccio led the Demon Deacons during the opening round, shooting a bogey-free 5-under 67 to end the round tied for second on the individual leaderboard. Jennifer Kupcho also shot in red figures, posting a 1-under 71.
Vanessa Knecht shot 75, Siyun Liu shot 76 and Letizia Bagnoli shot 81 to round out the Demon Deacon lineup. Monica Schumacher, playing as an individual, shot a first round 78.
The Tar Heel Invitational continues Saturday and concludes Sunday at the Finley Golf Course.
