GILBERT, ARIZ. – Senior field hockey player Megan Anderson has been selected to represent Wake Forest in the Victory Sports Tours/NFHCA Division I Senior Game which features the top senior players in the country. Forward Jule Grashoff was selected as an alternate.
Anderson, a Melbourne Australia native, currently leads the nation in assists per game (1.19). She has notched 19 assists this season along with four goals for 27 points. In her four-year career with the Deacons, Anderson has accumulated 51 assists to rank her fourth all-time in the Wake Forest record books. Anderson has recorded seven multi-assists games this season, with a career-high three assists against Appalachian State this year.
"Megan is a fierce competitor who leads by her actions, words and conviction," head coach Jen Averill said. "Regardless of the circumstances she has been the one constant. Megan is the heartbeat of Wake Forest field hockey."
Bremen, Germany native, Grashoff leads the Deacons and is tied for first in the ACC with 14 goals on the season. She ranks fifth in the NCAA with 58 goals in her career among all active players. Grashoff has notched two hat tricks this season, scoring three goals in Wake's win over Louisville and four goals against Appalachian State. She was tabbed Pre-Season All-ACC leading into her senior season and was named All-ACC first Team, and an NFHCA All-American following her junior campaign.
"Jule is the intense competitor everyone coach needs on their squad," Averill said. "She has the courage to want the ball in her hands to make a difference in the outcome of a game. I believe Jule is one of the most threatening forwards playing on the collegiate level."
The Senior Game will take place in conjunction with the NCAA Field Hockey Championships in Louisville, Ky. The game is set for Friday, Nov. 16 at 6 p.m., at Louisville's Trager Stadium.
