WILMINGTON, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's golf team concluded its final event of the fall season with Sunday's third round at the Landfall Tradition. The Demon Deacons shot 5-over during the final round to climb the leaderboard for a sixth place finish at 34-over.
"We had a very good showing at the Landfall Tradition," said head coach Kim Lewellen. "We had the low score in the first round and the third-lowest score in the third round. This gives us a lot to build on to prepare for the championship season in the spring. I'm very proud of the perseverance of this team who had never before seen this challenging golf course."
Two Demon Deacons finished in the top 15 of the individual leaderboard. Emilia Migliaccio was T-11th at 5-over after a final round 75. Vanessa Knecht had her best collegiate finish at T-15th, finishing the tournament at 6-over after an even par final round 72.
The low round of Sunday for the Deacs belonged to Siyun Liu, who had a 1-under 71. Letizia Bagnoli shot a final round 75 to finish at 10-over.
Wake Forest will return to action in February when it opens the spring season in California with the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge.
