Bagnoli Shares First Round Lead at Palos Verdes

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. – The Wake Forest women's golf team opened its spring schedule Sunday with the first round of the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge. The Demon Deacons shot 16-over during the opening day at the Palos Verdes Golf Club and are in sixth place after 18 holes of play.
In an event that features 11 of the top 20 teams in the nation, the No. 14 Demon Deacons are nine shots off the lead of 7-over, held by No. 12 UCLA.
Freshman Letizia Bagnoli shot a collegiate-best 2-under 69 on Sunday to share the tournament's 18-hole individual lead. She was one of just three players in the 84-player field to shoot under par in the first round.
Jennifer Kupcho shot a 4-over 75, Siyun Liu shot 77 and Emilia Migliaccio shot 79 to round out the scoring four for the Demon Deacons.
The Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge continues Monday and concludes Tuesday at the Palos Verdes Golf Club.
