THE MATCHUP
• Wake Forest volleyball will make the short trips to Raleigh and Chapel Hill to face NC State and North Carolina on Friday, Nov. 2 and Sunday, Nov. 4.
• First serve on Friday against the Wolfpack is set for 7 p.m. and Sunday's match against UNC is slated for 1 p.m.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Deacons fell to fifth-ranked Pitt in three sets on Friday and dropped to Virginia on Sunday.
• Wake Forest looks to snap a four-match losing skid this weekend.
QUICK HITS
• Head Coach Bill Ferguson returns for his third season at the helm of the program.
• The Demon Deacons return 14 players from last year's squad, led by seniors Hailey Brooke McFadden and Katie Moore, and welcome five freshmen to the club.
• Junior Caroline Rassenfoss is the team's returning kill leader as she tallied 271 kills last season.
• 2018 will mark the first season for Wake Forest Volleyball in the newly renovated Reynolds Gymnasium. Reynolds has been home for the Deacons since 1971. The team spent the previous two seasons in the LJVM Coliseum while the renovations were underway.
• Sophomores lead the way in three categories- Madeline Holt with 848 assists, Olivia Saunders with 72 total blocks and Caroline Kuhn with 22 service aces.
SCOUTING THE WOLFPACK
• NC State is 10-12 on the season and 4-8 in conference action.
• The Wolfpack is coming off three straight losses to Syracuse, Clemson and Georgia Tech.
• Teni Sopitan is the team's kill leader with 295, while Melissa Evans is right behind with 292 kills.
• NC State ranks third in the ACC with 1333 digs (14.81 d/s) behind Notre Dame and Georgia Tech. Makenzie Kuchmaner leads the squad with 387 digs which ranks second in the conference.
• Wake Forest leads the all-time series against the Wolfpack, 31-28.
SCOUTING THE TARHEELS
• North Carolina ranks last in the ACC with a 1-11 conference record and a 5-16 overall mark. The Tarheels picked up their lone ACC victory against in-state foe NC State.
• Destiny Cox leads the team with 231 kills on the season (3.25 k/s).
• Defensively, Mia Fradenburg paces the Tarheels with 273 digs, while Katharine Esterley has tallied 59 blocks at the net.
• North Carolina holds a 49-14 all-time advantage over the Deacs.
LOOKING AHEAD
• The Deacons return to Reynolds to host Miami and Louisville in the final home matches of the season on Nov. 9 & 11.
• Friday's match against the Canes is set for 6:30, while first serve on Sunday against Louisville will be at 1 p.m.
