DEACS OPEN PLAY IN MYRTLE BEACH INVITATIONAL AGAINST SAINT JOSEPH'S
• Wake Forest will play the first ever game of the Myrtle Beach Invitational, facing Saint Joseph's in the first quarterfinal of the inaugural tournament
• The Deacs are playing at the HTC Center for the second straight year, having posted an 84-80 road win at Coastal Carolina last December
• Wake is looking to open a season 2-0 for the fourth time in the five years of the Danny Manning era

SERIES HISTORY
• Saint Joseph's leads the all-time series 12-5 (Wake Forest leads 3-2 at neutral sites)
• The last meeting was the Hawks' 84-80 victory over the Deacs in the Sweet 16 of the 2004 NCAA Tournament in East Rutherford, N.J.
• The teams last played in the regular season in 1982-83 when Wake Forest downed Saint Joseph's 88-65 at the Holiday Festival at Madison Square Garden

NOVEMBER TOURNAMENT HISTORY
• This year marks Wake Forest's first appearance at the Myrtle Beach Invitational
• Wake Forest is 5-4 in November tournaments during the Manning era, finishing third at the 2015 Maui Invitational, finishing third at the 2016 Charleston Classic and finishing sixth at the 2017 Paradise Jam

• Wake Forest opened the season with a 90-78 victory over North Carolina A&T
• Six Demon Deacons scored in double figures, including three freshmen
Jaylen Hoard led the Deacs with 19 points and 13 rebounds in his collegiate debut

• Wake Forest outrebounded the Aggies 44-22 in the contest

THE KIDS ARE ALRIGHT
• Three Wake Forest freshmen scored in double figures in the season-opening win over North Carolina A&T
Jaylen Hoard led the Deacs with 19 points, while Isaiah Mucius scored 13 points and Sharone Wright, Jr. scored 11 points
• The last time Wake had three freshmen score in double figures in a season opener was 2012-13 (Devin Thomas, Codi Miller-McIntyre, Arnaud William Adala Moto)
• The 43 combined points by freshmen was the most for the Deacs in a season opener since 1990-91 when Rodney Rogers (24), Randolph Childress (12), Stan King (4) and Trelonnie Owens (4) combined for 44 points in their collegiate debuts

THE VETS STEP UP
• The veteran Deacs all stepped up in the season opening win over North Carolina A&T
Brandon Childress tied a career high with 18 points while also tallying six assists
Olivier Sarr set career highs with 12 points and nine rebounds

UP NEXT
• Wake Forest will play either UCF or Cal State Fullerton on Friday in either the semifinals or consolation bracket
• Wake Forest won the only previous meeting with Cal State Fullerton, downing the Titans in the first round of the 76 Classic in Anaheim in 2007-08
• It would be the first all-time meeting between Wake Forest and UCF
