2018 Field Hockey Schedule Announced

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest field hockey head coach Jennifer Averill announced the team's 2018 schedule on Wednesday (March 21).
The schedule features 18 games, including seven home contests, seven away games and three that will be played at a neutral site.
Just as they have in the previous two seasons, the Demon Deacons will begin the season with matchups against Iowa (Aug. 25) and Michigan (Aug. 26) in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge, played this year in Chapel Hill, North Carolina.
After a trip to Penn to take on the Quakers (Aug. 31) and Princeton (Sept. 2), Wake Forest opens ACC play at Boston College on Sept. 7.
The Deacs begin a three-game home stretch when they play their home opener against William & Mary on Friday, Sept. 14 followed by another home game against New Hampshire on Sunday, Sept. 16.
The Demon Deacons conclude their homestand by taking on Louisville in their ACC home opener on Sept. 21.
On Sunday, Sept. 23, the Deacs will travel to Richmond to play the Spiders. Former Wake Forest player and assistant coach Jamie Montgomery will be in her first season as Richmond's head coach.
Wake Forest takes on Duke to Kentner Stadium on Friday, Sept. 28 before closing out September at Liberty on Sunday, Sept. 30.
The Deacs begin October with a trip to Chapel Hill to battle North Carolina. One day later, the team returns home to play App State before welcoming Syracuse on Oct. 13.
Wake Forest concludes its ACC schedule with a trip to Virginia on Oct. 19. The team will close out its regular season schedule with nonconference games at VCU (Oct. 21) and at home against Davidson (Oct. 28).
The ACC Championship First Round will be played on Thursday, Nov. 1 in Chapel Hill.
The Demon Deacons finished 2017 with a 12-8 overall record and a return to the NCAA Tournament.
