CONWAY, S.C. -- Wake Forest fell on the road to No. 24 Coastal Carolina, 19-3, at Springs Brooks Stadium on Wednesday evening.

The game was tied in the middle of the fourth, but the Chanticleers (11-3) plated nine fourth-inning runs and outscored the Demon Deacons, 16-0, the rest of the way.

Christian Long went 2-for-4 with a double and a stolen base, while Michael Ludowig added a two-run double for Wake Forest.

Rhyse Dee and Cole McNamee had scoreless outings in relief for the Deacs.

For Coastal, Zach Biermann went 3-for-3 with two homers and Kyle Skeels was 3-for-4 with two doubles, a homer and six RBIs.

Anthony Simonelli started and earned the win for Coastal Carolina, while he combined with relievers Patrick Orlando, Jay Causey and Dylan Gentry to hold the Deacs scoreless for the final five innings.

Wake Forest returns home this weekend to open ACC play with a three-game series against No. 3 Florida State.
