BROWNS SUMMIT, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's golf team opened play Friday at the 21st annual Bryan National Collegiate, the tournament it co-hosts with UNCG on the Bryan Park Champions Course. The Demon Deacons are tied for 3rd place after two rounds at 13-over, just two shots off the lead.

Due to the forecast of inclement weather over the weekend, the first two rounds were played on Friday. Wake Forest shot a 12-over 300 during the first round to end the morning in 9th place. The Demon Deacons rallied with a 1-over 289 in the second round, the second-best round of the afternoon, to finish the day tied for 3rd at 13-over. North Carolina is the 36-hole leader at 11-over, one shot ahead of Furman (12-over) and two shots ahead of Wake Forest and Auburn.

Wake Forest freshman Emilia Migliaccio is the 36-hole individual leader at 3-under after rounds of 71 and 70. She is just one of two players under par after two rounds.

Jennifer Kupcho is tied for third individually at even par after back-to-back rounds of 72. Siyun Liu bounced back from a first-round 80 for a second-round 69, the best round of the day for the Deacs, to finish the day T-24th at 5-over. Mai Dechathipat is at 11-over after rounds of 77 and 78, while Monica Schumacher rounded out the lineup with rounds of 89 and 84.

The tournament is scheduled to conclude with the final round on Saturday, slated for a 10 a.m. start. If weather does not allow for play, the final round will be moved to Sunday.
