THE MATCHUP
• Wake Forest will host No. 7 Louisville at Kentner Stadium on Friday, Sept. 21 at 7 p.m. On Sunday, Sept. 23 the Deacons will face Richmond on the road at 12 p.m.
•The Deacons dropped out of the NFHCA Poll after splitting a pair of matches against No. 13 Boston College and Northeastern.
• Friday's game against Louisville will be broadcast on ACCNE and Sunday's match will be streamed on ESPN+
LAST TIME OUT
• The Demon Deacons defeated William and Mary, 4-1 in the home opener on Wednesday, Sept. 21 .
• Anne van Hoof recorded her first multi-goal game of her career, scoring two goals within the first five minutes of the game.
QUICK HITS
• Head coach Jen Averill returns for her 27th season at the helm of the program
• The Deacons return 13 players from last year's squad, led by Jule Grashoff, who led the team with 16 goals and 14 assists. The club also welcomes eight new freshmen.
• Grashoff was recently tabbed Preseason ALL-ACC, voted on by the league's seven coaches. Wake Forest was picked to finish seventh in the conference.
• Former U.S. National Team captain Melissa Gonzalez joins Wake Forest as an assistant coach. Gonzalez spent the past eight years competing with the U.S. Women's National Team and representing Team USA at two Olympic Games.
• The Deacs lead the ACC in saves with 40 through seven games (5.71 s/g).
SCOUTING THE CARDINALS
• Louisville enters the matchups ranked seventh in the NFHCA poll with a 6-2 overall record and a 1-1 mark in ACC play.
• The Cardinals are on a three match win streak after defeating California, No. 9 Boston College and No. 11 Northwestern.
• Redshirt sophomore Bethany Russ leads the team with three goals and six points, while senior Katie Walsh has added four assists.
• Senior goalkeeper Ayeisha McFerran was named ACC and NFHCA Defensive Player of the Week following back-to-back shutouts against ranked opponents.
SCOUTING THE SPIDERS
•Richmond has compiled a 3-5 overall record and is coming off a 1-0 in against SLU last weekend.
• Elise Zwicklbauer leads the Spiders with eight points off of three goals and two assists.
LOOKING AHEAD
•The Deacs return home to face Duke in ACC play on Friday, Sept. 28, at 5 p.m.
