THE MATCHUP
• Wake Forest welcomes Syracuse and Boston College to Reynolds Gymnasium for ACC matchups.
• Friday's match against Syracuse is set for 6:30 p.m. and first serve on Sunday against Boston College will be at 1 p.m.
• Wake Forest vs. Boston College will be broadcast on ACC Network Extra.
•The Wake Forest players and coaches will host a clinic immediately following the BC match. The clinic is free for 6th-12th graders, and will last an hour and a half.
LAST TIME OUT
• The Deacons opened ACC play on the road, dropping to Miami and Florida State 3-0.
• Olivia Saunders led the team with 14 kills and four blocks over the weekend.
QUICK HITS
• Head Coach Bill Ferguson returns for his third season at the helm of the program.
• The Demon Deacons return 14 players from last year's squad, led by seniors Hailey Brooke McFadden and Katie Moore, and welcome five freshmen to the club.
• Junior Caroline Rassenfoss is the team's returning kill leader as she tallied 271 kills last season.
• 2018 will mark the first season for Wake Forest Volleyball in the newly renovated Reynolds Gymnasium. Reynolds has been home for the Deacons since 1971. The team spent the previous two seasons in the LJVM Coliseum while the renovations were underway.
• Sophomores lead the way in four categories- Myca Mitchell with 123 kills, Madeline Holt with 460 assists, Olivia Saunders with 44 total blocks and Caroline Kuhn with 12 service aces.
SCOUTING THE ORANGE
• Syracuse makes the trip to Winston-Salem with a 6-4 overall record and a 2-0 mark in conference action.
• Freshman Polina Shemanova leads the Orange in kills with 168. She was named ACC Freshman of the week after Syracuse defeated Georgia Tech and Clemson last weekend.
• Cuse leads the ACC, averaging 2.82 blocks per set. The Orange have posted 32 solo stops and 173 assisted blocks.
SCOUTING THE EAGLES
• Boston College enters Deacon Territory 12 -2 overall and 2-0 in ACC play. They are coming off a 3-0 sweep of Clemson and a 3-1 victory over Georgia Tech.
• Junior Cat Balido paces the Eagles with 125 kills.
• Defensively, Ally Mullen and Amaka Chukwujekwu have recorded 59 and 55 blocks, respectively.
LOOKING AHEAD
•The Deacs will continue ACC play as they face Notre Dame and Louisville on the road on Friday and Sunday, Oct. 5 & 7. Match times are set for 7 and 1 p.m
