The Matchup
• The top-ranked Demon Deacons return to ACC play on Saturday night at 7 p.m., playing host to No. 9 Duke on ACC Network Extra.
Last Time Out
• Wake Forest broke a 1-1 halftime tie with four second-half goals to defeat Davidson, 5-1, on Tuesday.
• Three freshmen — Aristotle Zarris, Holland Rula and Koby Carr — scored, and Bruno Lapa earned his third brace of the season.
• Six different Deacs tallied assists: Lapa, Zarris, Logan Gdula, Isaiah Parente, Machop Chol and Omir Fernandez.
Quick Kicks
• Wake Forest was ranked No. 5 in the nation in the United Soccer Coaches preseason poll and moved up to No. 1 in the first weekly poll. The Deacs have been ranked in the top five in 26 consecutive polls dating back to the middle of the 2016 season - 21 more weeks than any other program (Michigan State - 5).
• Wake Forest has several long streaks alive. The team's ACC unbeaten streak is 22 games (dating back to Sept. 30, 2016), and the road unbeaten streak is 12 games (also since Sept. 30, 2016), including nine straight wins. Wake Forest is undefeated and untied in 2018.
• The Deacs are once again one of the top teams in the country. Wake Forest is one of just two teams in Division I to remain unbeaten and untied (Saint Mary's), and is tied for the national lead with 28 goals.
• Wake Forest has a lot of new faces after sending seven into the MLS ranks following the 2017 season. Still, the Deacs brought in the No. 2 recruiting class in the country, headlined by top-50 recruits Isaiah Parente, Kyle Holcomb, Koby Carr and Aristotle Zarris.
• Since the start of the Bobby Muuss era in 2015, Wake Forest has a 64-8-7 overall record. That win total is the most of any Division I program.
Opponent & Series History
• Duke has a 23-15-8 advantage in the all-time series, but Wake Forest is unbeaten since 2012, including wins in the last two meetings.
• The Blue Devils enter the game with a 4-2-1 overall record, including a 1-1-0 mark in ACC play. Duke is coming off a scoreless draw against George Washington and defeated Boston College last Friday, 3-2.
• Daniele Proch is responsible for nearly half of Duke's scoring output, totaling six goals and an assist through seven games.
Up Next
• The Demon Deacons close out their three-game homestand against UNCG on Tuesday night on ACC Network Extra.
