Deacs Travel to Clemson for Bob Pollock Invite

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field teams are set to participate in the Bob Pollock Invitational, Jan. 25-26, at the Clemson Indoor Track and Field Complex. Forty student-athletes will be representing Wake Forest throughout the weekend. 23 women and 17 men will compete for the Demon Deacons. Competition on Friday begins at 2:30 p.m. on both the track and in the field. On Saturday, field events start at 11 a.m. while track events will begin at noon.

OPPONENTS | Clemson, Alabama, Auburn, Campbell, Florida, Florida A&M, Florida State, Georgia Tech, UCF, Virginia Tech, Vanderbilt, Tennessee

LAST TIME OUT | The Deacs claimed seven event titles at the Wake Forest Invitational. In the field, Alva Hicks took the shot put title, Tesia Kempski was crowned in the women's pole vault and Alexandria Florent took first in the women's high jump. For the men, freshman Kane Aldrich won the pole vault for his first collegiate victory. On the track, Cydney Delley claimed her first title of the season with a win in the women's 200m. The Deacs swept the 4x400 relays for a strong finish at the meet. Senior Andrew Magiera finished second in the men's mile, winning his heat and set a personal best (indoor) with a time of 4:25.85.

After this weekend, the Demon Deacons will compete in the annual Camel City Classic, held Feb. 1-2 at the JDL Fast Track.
