Volleyball Falls to Georgia Tech, 3-0

ATLANTA- Wake Forest volleyball (11-7, 1-6 ACC) fell 3-0 to Georgia Tech (11-7, 4-3 ACC) on Friday evening.
Wake struggled offensively, hitting just .032 while the Yellow Jackets posted a .373 clip for the match. Freshman Zoe Gonzales led the Deacs with five kills and two blocks. Parker Kwiatkowski made her first start in a Wake Forest uniform collecting 13 assists. Caitlin Clarke paced the defense with seven digs.
The first set was tied at 3-3 before Georgia Tech went on a dominant 14-3 run to jump in front 17-6. Wake managed to put four more points on the board, but the Yellow Jackets took the first frame 25-10 for an early 1-0 match lead.
GT continued its momentum getting out to a 6-0 lead in the second set. Wake got back within four at 10-6, but Georgia Tech remained dominant offensively, taking a 2-0 lead with a 25-13 victory in the second set.
The Yellow Jackets sealed the sweep with a 25-14 win in the final set. Wake again tied the set at 3-3 before Georgia Tech went on strong runs to hold a commanding lead. A kill from Caroline Kuhn and a GT attack error put Wake back within two, before the Yellow Jackets went on a 5-1 run to lead 12-6. Wake answered with a 3-0 run, but Georgia Tech capped the match with a 3-0 run of its own.
Wake returns to the court on Sunday as it takes on Clemson at 5 p.m.
