PITTSBURGH- Wake Forest volleyball dropped to No. 2 Pitt, 3-0 on Friday evening in Fitzgerald Field House.

Pitt (22-1, 11-0 ACC) hit .320 in the match while holding the Deacons to a .014 clip. Stephanie Williams recorded nine kills for the Panthers and Sabrina Starks notched seven kills for a .750 percentage and added six total blocks.

Olivia Saunders led the efforts for the Deacons recording six kills, while Caitlyn Della and Peyton Suess each added five. Suess and Caitlin Clarke notched a team-best six digs and setter Parker Kwiatkowski dished out 14 assists. Paige Sebesta served as libero for the first time this season.

Wake (11-11, 1-10 ACC) only tallied 21 combined points in the first two sets, but rallied back in the third frame. The Deacs took a 7-5 lead before Pitt jumped back in front. Wake called timeout down 11-10. An ace from Zoe Gonzales and a kill from Olivia Saunders tied the frame up at 13-all before Pitt regained the lead for the final time in the match. Saunders notched four of her six kills in the match in the third frame, but Wake's offensive rally fell short against the second-ranked Panthers.

The Deacons will return to action on the road against Virginia on Sunday at 2:30 p.m.
