Six Field Hockey Players Tabbed to All-ACC Academic Team

GREENSBORO, N.C. – Six Wake Forest field hockey members were named to the All-ACC Academic Team, the conference office announced on Friday.
Seniors Megan Anderson and Jule Grashoff received the honor for the fourth time in as many seasons. They join only two other ACC players this season to be named to the All-ACC Academic Team all four years of their careers.
Isla Bint, Veerle Bos, Kelsey Gill and Anne van Hoof made the list for the first time.
Minimum academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
Anderson, a team captain and health and exercise science major, completes her Demon Deacon campaign as the all-time assists leader in Wake Forest history with 61, 29 of which came during her senior season. Throughout the year, she led the nation in assists per game. She started all 81 games during her four years with the Deacs and earned All-ACC and NFHCA All-American honors.
Bint, a biology major, recorded over 1,300 minutes in the net as a goalkeeper, notching a team-high 79 saves. She pulled in a career-high 10 saves in Wake's win over Michigan in the ACC/Big Ten Challenge to start the season. Bint finished the year with a 12-6 mark including two shutouts over Richmond and Duke.
Bos, also majoring in biology and a 2018 team captain, recorded two goals and a career-high 11 assists during her senior season. She helped anchor a back line that held opponents to just 2.35 goals against average and played a key role in penalty corners for the Deacons as the primary inserter. Bos was named All-ACC second team as well as NFHCA All-South Region.
Gill, a sociology major, started in 20 games for the Deacons as a forward. She tallied six goals, including the lone goal of the NCAA semifinal game against UNC. She also added five assists and played a key role on penalty corners during her junior season.
Grashoff led the ACC and ranked seventh in the nation with a career-high 24 goals during the season. She also added six assists for a team-high 54 points. Grashoff finishes her Wake Forest career ranked third all-time with 69 career goals and third with 173 career points. The Bremen, Germany native was also named All-ACC First Team and an NFHCA Second Team All-American.
Sophomore van Hoof garnered All-ACC Academic honors for the first time in her career after scoring eight goals and tallying three assists for the Deacons. She was third on the team behind Grashoff and Anderson with 19 points. The Schijndel, Netherlands native was one of the primary strikers on penalty corners for the Deacs. Van Hoof also ranked fourth in the ACC with two defensive saves (0.11 per game).
