Deacs Finish Seventh at Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge

PALOS VERDES ESTATES, Calif. – The Wake Forest women's golf team concluded play Tuesday at the Northrop Grumman Regional Challenge with the tournament's third round. The Demon Deacons shot 13-over during the final day at the Palos Verdes Golf Club to finish the tournament in seventh place at 37-over.
In an event that featured 11 of the top 20 teams in the nation, the No. 14 Demon Deacons finished ahead of three top-10 teams at the tournament.
"For our first event of the spring, in tough conditions, these student-athletes fought and played well," said head coach Kim Lewellen. "We look forward to getting back home and working to prepare for our next event, but most importantly the postseason."
Senior Jennifer Kupcho shot a final-round 2-over 73 to finish the tournament in 12th place at 5-over. Freshman Letizia Bagnoli had her best collegiate finish, T-13th at 6-over, after a final round 75. Siyun Liu had a final round 74, Emilia Miglaiccio shot a final round 75 and Vanessa Knecht had a final round 76 to round out the Demon Deacon lineup.
The Demon Deacons return to action March 8-10 with the Darius Rucker Intercollegiate in Hilton Head, S.C.
