• Wake Forest continues its eight-game homestand on Tuesday at 5 p.m. against App State on ACC Network Extra.

Saturday - Strike Out ALS Awareness Game - The Deacs will be honoring Tony Causby and his family. Tony was diagnosed with ALS in 2016, and his son, Tripp, was a high school baseball player and is a freshman student at Wake Forest. The Deacs will also recognize the family of Pete Mofitt, a Wake Forest alum and supporter who passed away in 2012. BC baseball alum Pete Frates was diagnosed with ALS in 2012, and was the inspiration for the famous Ice Bucket Challenge.

Last Time Out
• The Demon Deacons earned a 5-4 victory over Appalachian State on Tuesday thanks to several strong efforts in the late innings.
Michael Turconi hit what proved to be the game-winning RBI single in the bottom of the eighth inning to break a 4-4 tie..
Bobby Hearn shut the Mountaineers out in the seventh and eighth innings, striking out three batters in 2.0 frames to earn the win. William Fleming followed with a 1-2-3 ninth inning to earn his first-career save.

Wake Forest Storylines
• The Demon Deacons return an experienced group in 2019, bringing back eight of the nine position starters and two-thirds of the weekend rotation. Last year, Wake Forest had the fifth-most starts from freshmen in the country, with five rookies making more than 35 starts each. The Deacs return 88 percent of the team's hits from last year (437/499), as well as 71 percent of the innings pitched (366.1/515.1).
• Wake Forest's weekend pitching rotation has been solid early in the year. Colin Peluse, Jared Shuster and Morgan McSweeney each have ERAs under 3.75 with opponent batting averages under .260. Shuster is currently 3-0 with a 2.62 ERA and 37 strikeouts in 24.0 innings.

Opponent & Series History
• Wake Forest leads the all-time series against Boston College, 22-17. The Demon Deacons have won four in a row and six of the last seven, including a series sweep in Massachusetts a year ago.
• The Eagles have a 9-6 overall record and are currently 1-2 in ACC play, taking the series finale against No. 6 Louisville last Sunday. Boston College enters with two-straight wins after beating Holy Cross in its home-opener Tuesday.
• Boston College is hitting .280 as a team, including three hitting better than .335 with multiple homers each: Sal Frelick (.383), Jake Alu (.351) and Cody Morissette (.339).
