Wake Forest Wraps Up Final Day of Raleigh Relays

RALEIGH, N.C. – The Wake Forest men's and women's track and field team earned eight more top-10 finishes in the final day of competition at the Raleigh Relays Saturday.
The Demon Deacons finish the two-day competition against stellar competition with 17 top-10 finishes and one event title.
Tesia Kempski found herself in a tough battle for the second straight weekend. She finished second in the women's pole vault, clearing a height of 4.05m.
Danielle Konopelski and Rachel Kern both earned top-10 finishes in the women's javelin. Konopelski, a fifth-year transfer from Queens (Charlotte), took fourth with a best throw of 45.41m. Kern finished eighth with a best mark of 43.51m. Alva Hicks threw a 57.47m in the hammer throw, good for sixth overall.
On the men's side, Elijah Shalaway had a solid performance in the javelin, taking eighth with a best throw of 61.12m.
On the track, Dakota Greenwalt impressed with a fifth-place finish in the men's 800m. His time of 1:50.73 is good for a new career-best, surpassing his previous best time of 1:50.83 set at the 2019 ACC Indoor Championships. Teammate Archie Wallis was close behind, finishing seventh with a career-best time of 1:51.04 in his outdoor debut.
Up next, the Demon Deacons will return to the queen city to compete in the Charlotte Invitational, April 12-13.
