No. 22 Wake Forest’s Run in ACC Championship Ends with Loss to No. 11 Florida State

DURHAM, N.C. – Battling a location change and weather delays, No. 22 Wake Forest women's tennis (20-8) dropped a 4-0 decision to 11th-ranked Florida State in the quarterfinals of the ACC Championships.
The Seminoles (20-5) took an early 1-0 led with a pair of 6-2 doubles victories on courts one and three. MC Meredith and Eliza Omirou lead 5-3 on court two before the match was abandoned.
Ana Oparenovic defeated Eliza Omirou on court three 6-4, 6-2 to give Florida State a 2-0. The Noles got within a point of victory as No. 42 Carla Touly defeated No. 34 Emma Davis 6-3, 6-3 in the top spot. The match was clinched on court two as Emmanuelle Salas defeated Anna Ulyashchenko 6-4, 7-5.
After falling 6-3 in the first set, freshman Saby Nihalani forced a third set with a 6-1 win in the second on court four, but the match went unfinished as FSU put its fourth point on the board.
Wake Forest will await a seeding and location in the NCAA Tournament. The NCAA Selection Show will air on Monday, April 29 at 6:30 p.m.
