The Demon Deacons totaled 20 hits in a game for the first time since 2017.

CHARLOTTE -- Wake Forest jumped out to a 13-0 lead in the fourth inning, cruising to an 18-6 victory over Charlotte at Hayes Stadium on Tuesday night.

The Demon Deacons (25-17) racked up 20 hits in a game for the first time since 2017 to defeat the 49ers (14-25-1). All nine starters had at least one hit, as well as four substitutes.

Wake Forest hit four total homers, including two from Shane Muntz, who also totaled five RBIs. Bruce Steel and Cole McNamee also left the yard.

The Deacs put up four crooked numbers, scoring three runs in the first inning, three in the third, seven in the fourth and four in the seventh.

Bobby Seymour increased his ACC lead in RBIs with four more on Tuesday, playing just the first four innings. He went 2-for-3, finishing with an RBI groundout, RBI single and two-run single to increase his season total to 64 in 42 games.

Leadoff hitter Michael Turconi went 3-for-3 with three runs scored and an RBI. Chris Lanzilli, Jake Mueller and Logan Harvey also had multi-hit efforts, as well.

Wake Forest starter Tyler Witt allowed just one unearned run over 5.0 innings on four hits and no walks, striking out three.

In addition to his big day at the plate, Muntz also tossed 1.1 perfect innings on the mound, striking out one. Carter Bach also threw a scoreless frame in relief.

The Deacs continue their six-game road swing this weekend, traveling to Florida State for a three-game ACC series.
