The Matchup
• Wake Forest remains in Winston-Salem on Tuesday, taking on High Point at 6 p.m. on ACC Network Extra.
Last Time Out
• The Demon Deacons drilled nine total home runs in a series victory over Virginia Tech over the weekend. DJ Poteet drilled three longballs, while Bobby Seymour and Bruce Steel each hit two and Chris Lanzilli and Brendan Tinsman added one apiece.
• Colin Peluse recorded a strong start in Friday's 8-3 victory. After allowing two first-inning runs, he settled in and held the Hokies scoreless until he departed in the seventh. His final line was 6.2 IP, 6 H, 2 R, 1 BB, 5 K as he earned the win.
Wake Forest Storylines
• The back end of Wake Forest's bullpen has been impressive as of late. William Fleming and Antonio Menendez both have ERAs below 3.00. That duo has combined to allow three runs over the last 30.2 innings; Menendez has conceded two runs over seven outings covering 14.2 innings, while Fleming has allowed one run over his last nine outings in 16.0 innings, allowing just six hits and three walks in that span.
• Patrick Frick ranks third in the ACC with a .371 batting average to go along with six doubles, three homers, 31 RBIs and six stolen bases. Chris Lanzilli leads the league with 16 doubles and is second with 41 RBIs, also totaling a .340 average and eight longballs. Bobby Seymour ranks atop the ACC with 42 RBIs in addition to his .366 average, 10 doubles and five home runs.
Opponent & Series History
• Wake Forest leads the all-time series over High Point by a 35-10 margin. Last year, each team defended its home field, splitting the home-and-home series. In the 2018 meeting in Winston-Salem, Wake Forest secured a wild 9-8 victory. The Deacs scored the first seven runs, but High Point took an 8-7 lead with five seventh-inning runs and three in the ninth. In the bottom of the inning, a wild pitch tied the game before Bobby Seymour hit a walk-off infield single.
• High Point won its series finale over Winthrop on Sunday to avoid a sweep. Daniel Millwee leads the Panthers with a .305 average, six doubles and five homers.
