Volleyball Remains Undefeated; Sweeps Furman

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – Wake Forest volleyball (7-0) improved its undefeated recorded with a 3-0 sweep over Furman (0-8) on Saturday evening at Reynolds Gym.
"We have some really good momentum going," interim head coach Randi Smart said. "Caitlyn Della did a good job leading our offense and a lot of players were able to contribute tonight. We are going to make a few adjustments and get back on the court against Elon tomorrow."
Senior Caitlyn Della led the efforts for Wake with 13 kills and five total blocks, while Peyton Suess and Olivia Saunders tacked on 10 and nine kills, respectively. Suess recorded her second double-double of the season adding a team-best 14 digs to the stat sheet. Madeline Holt posted 36 assists on the night before handing setting duties over to freshman Parker Kwiatkowski in the third set.
The Deacs hit .287 for the match, with a match-high .314 clip in the first set. Wake held the Paladins to a .146 hitting percentage for the match. Furman was led by Nicole Mack and Gabby Howard at the net with seven kills each.
Wake returns to the court on Sunday at 2 p.m. at Elon.
