The Matchup
• The seventh-ranked Wake Forest men's tennis team will host a pod of the ITA Kickoff Weekend on Friday and Saturday, Jan. 24 and 25 at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
• The Deacs will Welcome ETSU, Penn State and Kentucky. Wake Forest will face ETSU on Friday at 5 p.m. Penn State and Kentucky will play the first match of the weekend at 2 p.m. The consolation match will take place on Saturday at 2 p.m., while the championship match will be played at 5.
• The winner of each pod will advance to the ITA National Indoor Championships, Feb. 14-17 in Madison, Wis.
Last Time Out
• Wake Forest started the season 2-0 with back-to-back sweeps over Coastal Carolina and Tennessee Tech as Coach Bresky notched his 200th career-victory.
• Freshman Henri Squire made his collegiate debut clinching the first match of the season with a 6-1, 6-1 victory against Coastal Carolina on court two. He added a 7-5, 6-3 win against Tennessee Tech and partnered with Eduardo Nava on the top doubles court for two victories.
• 43rd-ranked Bar Botzer went down to the wire against Rafael Tosetto of Tennessee Tech, winning 6-1, 6-7 (5), 15-13 to complete the sweep for the Deacs.
• Wake Forest remains at No. 7 in the latest ITA rankings.
Bresky Gets Win Number 200
• Coach Tony Bresky collected his 200th career-victory in the first match of the season over Coastal Carolina.
• His .767 overall winning percentage is the best of any Wake Forest men's tennis coach.
Meet the Deacs
• The Deacs return 11 players from last year's NCAA finals team and welcome seven freshman to the squad.
• Freshmen Brant Fenno, Juan Lopez de Azcona, Robert Maciag, Jack Parry and Matt Thomson joined the Deacs in the fall, while Taha Baadi and Henri Squire enrolled in January.
