No. 24 Wake Forest Sweeps San Diego to Close Out ITA Kickoff Weekend

The Demon Deacons claimed the doubles point and won all three singles matches in straight-set fashion defeat the Toreros
STILLWATER, Okla. – In the consolation round of ITA Kickoff Weekend, the No. 24 Wake Forest women's tennis team swept San Diego, 4-0, en route to its third win of the spring.
The Demon Deacons (3-1) got off to a quick start by winning the doubles point. That momentum carried forward into the singles portion of the match.
After dropping the doubles point a day ago, Wake bounced back to defeat San Diego 2-1 in doubles play on Sunday. In the No. 2 match, Carolyn Campana and Chandler Carter cruised to their second doubles win of the weekend (6-0).
No. 10 ranked duo of Eliza Omirou and MC Meredith closed out the doubles points with an easy 6-2 win over Collig and Tyrina in the No. 1 doubles match.
Omirou was the first player to finish, winning in straight sets. She dropped just three games en route to a 6-1, 6-2 win in the second singles match.
No. 82 ranked Anna Campana ended her match just minutes later 6-1, 6-2 in the No. 3 match. The win gave the Deacs a commanding 3-0 lead as they led in the remaining four matches.
Carter, who earlier in the day helped clinch the doubles point, closed out the match with the fourth and clinching point for Wake.
She finished the No. 4 singles match in straight-set fashion with 6-2 and 7-6 (7-4) set wins.
