WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest volleyball team hosts conference foe and current No. 13 Georgia Tech in a series of mid-week matchups on Wednesday and Thursday at LJVM Coliseum.
The Deacs are looking to rebound at home after dropping their first two matches against Miami in LJVM, before they hit the road for the next two weeks to face Clemson and Florida State.
Coach's Comments
Having 11 days between matches…
Serve receive and setting have been major focuses for us. It's been hard having kids in and out of practice, reps are so important. We've been working on a lot of first and second contacts over the past 11 days. And playing in a bigger space has taken them time to get used to. We have our peaks and valleys, but definitely got off to a slower start against Miami so we've been picking it up the past two weeks.
On Georgia Tech…
"They have very strong outside hitters, they're fast and they do everything. We can't stop everything so we just have to look at where we can be the most successful. Michelle has done a great job over there; they love to compete. Their right side, Brambilla, is such a great leader for them and is so competitive. They have great leadership and energy and love to win. They definitely have a chip on their shoulder; we thought they should have been in the tournament last year so they're going to get it done this year."
The Match
Last meeting: Georgia Tech won 3-0 on October 18, 2019 in Atlanta.
Series record: Georgia Tech leads 35-12.
The last time Wake Forest beat Georgia Tech was October 12, 2018 in Winston-Salem. The Deacs took the match 3-1.
Both matches will air on ACC Network.
