Wake Forest Travels to Take on Charlotte 49ers

The Demon Deacons look to continue winning ways on the road at Charlotte on Thursday night.

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's basketball team is set to travel to Charlotte to take on the 49ers on Thursday night.
The Demon Deacons (2-1) ride a two-game winning streak into the matchup including a ranked win over Missouri State their last time out. Since the start of last season, Wake Forest holds a record of 9-3 against in-state opponents including a win over Davidson earlier this year.
Charlotte (0-2) is coming off an 80-73 loss at home to Clemson. In the loss, the 49ers were led by guard Octavia Jett-Wilson. She finished the night with 17 points, eight rebounds and two assists.
Tipoff for Thursday night's game against the in-state 49ers is scheduled for 6:00 p.m. (ET) in Dale F. Halton Arena. The game can also be seen on ESPN+ ($).

RECEIVING VOTES
After starting the season 2-1, Wake Forest is receiving votes in the AP Top-25 poll. The Deacs had nine votes when the poll was released on Monday, Nov. 30.
The Demon Deacons are looking to crack the AP Top-25 poll for the first time since the 1987-88 season when Wake Forest was ranked five times, elevating as high as No. 16 in the nation.

Senior guard Gina Conti goes into Thursday ranked seventh, needing just four assists to move into sixth on the all-time list. Additionally, she needs just 122 assists as a senior to break the all-time program record.
Additionally, she is tied for fourth in program history in assist-to-turnover ratio (1.41).
