The Demon Deacons swept Clemson on Sunday, 7-0, first road road win in series since 2002

CLEMSON, S.C. – The Wake Forest women's tennis team captured its fourth consecutive victory, winning 7-0 at Clemson on Sunday afternoon.

After helping the Demon Deacons (6-1, 1-0 ACC) get on the board in double action, Chandler Carter clinched the first conference victory for the Deacs in the No. 5 match. After battling back to take the first set 7-5, Carter continued to press in the second set, cruising to a 6-1 second set win.

Wake Forest won the first three singles matches in straight-set fashion to clinch the match. MC Meredith was the first to finish in the No. 6 match as she defeated Clemson's Zaina Nait Omar, 6-3, 6-2.

Anna Campana (6-2, 6-1) and No. 117 Eliza Omirou (6-1, 7-6 (8-7)) also finished off their victories in two sets with Omirou claiming her win in a second set tie breaker.

No. 23 Carolyn Campana and Saby Nihalani closed out the afternoon with wins in the No. 1 and No. 3 matches, respectively. After dropping the opening set, Nihalani battled back to win the second set, 6-4, before claiming a three-set victory.

Wake Forest jumped out to an early lead with the help of its No. 2 and No. 3 doubles pairings. Carolyn Campana and Chandler Carter continued their dominat start to the spring season, winning 6-1 in the No. 2 match.

Just moments later, Anna Brylin and Saby Nihalani also picked up a 6-1 win in the No. 3 match to clinch the doubles point.

Quotable:
"Clemson played us very tough today. The final score didn't really reflect how the match felt. For that to happen, we played well at key moments. Any ACC road match is a tough one. It is great to start off the conference campaign with a win. We are excited to go to the Blue Gray Classic this week." - Coach Jeff Wyshner
