Wake Forest Set to Compete in Ruth Chris Tar Heel Invitational

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's golf team is set to compete in the Ruth Chris Tar Heel Invitational this weekend, hosted by North Carolina.
The Deacs are coming off a team win two weeks ago at the Bryan National Collegiate in Greensboro, North Carolina. Junior Rachel Kuehn was the top finisher for the Deacs and recorded a team-high six birdies during her final round. Three birdies on her final six holes secured her six-under T2 finish at the event.
Grad transfer Virunpat Olankitkunchai finished in sole possession of fourth place with a three-round total of five under par. Freshman Carolina Chacarra rounded out the Deacs in the top five, as she finished in a tie for fifth, one stroke back from Olankitkunchai at four under for the tournament.
Sophomore Mimi Rhodes had her best round of the Bryan on the final day. Three birdies on her first nine holes aided her tied for 10th finish. She finished one under par for the event. Rhodes leads the team with a 71.00 stroke average through the first two events of the season and has finished in the top 10 in both events.
Junior Lauren Walsh recorded her second top-15 finish of the season at the Bryan, finishing in 15th with a one-over score of 217. Senior Vanessa Knecht finished inside the top 20 in her first appearance of the season at T17 with a score of 219.

The event will be played over three days, with one round of 18-hole stroke play each day. Tee times will begin at 8:30 a.m. Friday and Saturday with a shotgun start at 8:45 on Sunday for the final round.
