Wake Forest Heads North for Weekend Matches

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest volleyball team is getting back on the road for the first time in two weeks. They head to Pittsburgh to face the No. 4 Panthers on Friday and will face the Virginia Cavaliers on Sunday in Charlottesville.
Statistically, Wake Forest has remained inside the top 10 in multiple categories since the start of the season. They are fourth in the league in service aces, with 1.50 per set. They are ninth in kills (12.99/set), ninth in hitting percentage (.241) and eighth in blocks (2.28/set)
Senior setter Andrea Fuentes is fourth in the Atlantic Coast Conference in assists per set, with 10.05/set through 75 sets. She has tallied 754 helpers through 21 matches, which is third-most in the league. She is also eighth in the league in service aces, averaging 0.35/set. Freshman libero Kalani Whillock is third in the league in digs per set, averaging 4.16 through 75 sets. Her 312 total digs are third in the league.
Grad transfer Kamryn Malloy plays all six rotations for the Deacs and leads the team in total kills for the season, tallying 259 through 21 matches. She has also amassed 168 digs, which is second on the team, behind libero Kalani Whillock (312). She leads the team with an average of 3.41 kills per set. She is currently 10th in the league in points (3.89/set) and her 3.41 kills/set is good for ninth in the league.
The Matches
The Deacs will face the No. 4 Panthers Friday night at 7 p.m. in Pittsburgh and the Cavaliers Sunday afternoon at 1 p.m. in Charlottesville. Both matches will stream live on ACC Network Extra.

The Deacs were led offensively by Olivia Franke and Ashley Slater who each registered nine kills. Franke finished with a team-high hitting percentage of .375. Andrea Fuentes orchestrated the offense with 27 assists and Kylie Adams chipped in six. Delaney McSweeney led the team on the net with three blocks and Kalani Whillock anchored the defense with 18 digs. Kamryn Malloy was right behind her with 10.
