Sophomore Michael Brennan captured his fourth individual title of his career on Tuesday, winning by six strokes over a field that featured 10 of the top 20 teams in the country.

FORT WORTH, Texas -- For the second consecutive week and tournament, Wake Forest sophomore Michael Brennan claimed the individual title, winning by six strokes at the Colonial Collegiate in Fort Worth, Texas on Tuesday.

The No. 17 Demon Deacons (+3) tied for third in the event as a team. The field featured 10 of the top 20 teams in the nation including the top four teams in the country.

This marks the fourth time in Brennan's career he has captured an individual title putting him with names such as Will Zalatoris and Bill Andrade to have four titles to their name at Wake Forest. Only six Demon Deacons have more than four titles in their collegiate career: Bill Haas (10), Gary Hallberg (9), Curtis Strange (8), Lanny Wadkins (5), Jay Haas (5) and Cameron Young (5).

Additionally, this is the second time in his career Brennan has won back-to-back events after winning at Kiawah and Pinehurst as a freshman.

The sophomore from Leesburg,Va. has been the top Demon Deacon on the leaderboard after every round this season and led nearly the entire week in Fort Worth.

Joining him in the top 15 was senior Alex Fitzpatrick (+2) who was a consistent part of the Demon Deacons lineup this week, recording rounds of 71 (+1), 70 (E) and 71 (+1). Fitzpatrick tied for 13th.

Freshman Scotty Kennon continued his impressive play, tying for 28th at 6-over-par.

From Coach Haas:

"It was nice to play in the last group in such a great field. We had a feeling we needed about a 7-under or 8-under round today to win and that was correct. It was a great experience. When we reflect on it, we will improve our play for future events. Looking forward to the Golf Club of Georgia in a couple weeks, there were significant improvements from our first event which is nice to see from a coaching standpoint. There are lots of players with lots to prove, so it should be competitive all year long. Go Deacons."
