Wake Forest Announces 2021 Spring Field Hockey Schedule

The Demon Deacons will face off against six conference opponents this spring, beginning on March 6 against Boston College at Kentner Stadium.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - Wake Forest field hockey and head coach Jennifer Averill has announced their 2021 spring schedule consisting of six contests against Atlantic Coast Conference opponents.
"The staff and players are looking forward to continuing the great growth and development we had in the fall," said Averill. "The squad is energized and excited to be back training and competing again. We were extremely fortunate this past fall to have a safe environment to compete in and look to continuing with those safeguards this winter and spring."
The Demon Deacons will open the spring with consecutive home games, beginning the slate on March 6 against Boston College before hosting North Carolina the following Saturday. The team's home finale on March 27 versus Virginia will cap off action in Winston-Salem for the spring. The trio of contests at Kentner Stadium will start at 12:00 p.m.
Wake Forest hits the road for the first time on March 19 against Duke before concluding spring competition with back-to-back away games at Syracuse (April 2) and Louisville (April 17).
The top finisher this spring will face fall champion North Carolina on April 23 to claim the ACC's automatic qualifying spot to the NCAA Tournament.
The Deacs last competed at the ACC Championship Quarterfinal on Nov. 5, 2020 versus Virginia after concluding the regular season in fifth-place in the conference.
