Deacs Set for Kiawah Invitational
2/13/2021 5:38:00 PM | Men's Golf
Winston-Salem, N.C. – The Wake Forest men's golf team heads down to South Carolina this week for the Kiawah Invitational, hosted by College of Charleston on Kiawah Island.
Wake Forest is one of 14 teams and one of two ACC schools in the field. The Deacs are coming off two second place finishes in January, losing only to the host schools of both events. Wake Forest went into a playoff with Florida State after finishing regulation in a tie for first and took second in Arizona by just six strokes.
The Deacs were listed as the No. 7 team in the country in the latest Golfweek/Sagarin rankings. Clemson, the only other ACC team in this week's field, is currently ranked No. 3.
Course Information
The tournament is being played at the par 72, 6,701-yard Oak Point Golf Course at the Kiawah Island Resort. The course was the recipient of the 2019 Charleston Golf Course Owners Association Course of the Year.
Oak Point delivers a superior playing surface with its regrassing in Paspalum and greater strategic challenges through a refreshed design. Originally conceived by Clyde Johnston, a noted Southeastern golf course architect, Oak Point sits by the Kiawah River and Haulover Creek, surrounded by maritime forest.
Format
54-hole stroke play where teams play three rounds over three days. Tee times will start at 8:30 a.m. ET on Sunday and Monday morning from holes 1 and 10. The final round will begin at 8:00 a.m. Tuesday morning.

The freshman has only played in two collegiate tournaments and has finished in the top five for both. After a T5 finish at the Seminole Invitational to start his collegiate career, Brennan was the top finisher for the Deacs at the Arizona Intercollegiate the following week, coming in T2 and just two strokes off the winner.
