No. 13 Wake Forest finishes off 4-0 weekend and extends its Atlantic Coast Conference winning streak to 23 matches with a 4-1 victory over Louisville.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The No. 13 Wake Forest men's tennis team extended its winning streak to six matches, defeating Louisville and UNC-Wilmington Sunday afternoon at Wake Forest Tennis Center.
After dropping the doubles point, the Demon Deacons (9-2, 2-0 ACC) had a dominant performance in singles play against Louisville (4-3, 0-2 ACC) to claim a 4-1 victory. The win moved the Deacs ACC winning streak to 23 matches.
The Deacs continued their strong play in the evening session against UNC-Wilmington (2-2), capping off another 7-0 win at home. Wake Forest scored the doubles point to start off the match on a high note and did not slow down in singles. They won all six matches in straight sets.
Wake Forest is now 68-1 in home matches since the start of the 2016-17 season.
Quotable:
"We had another great week of practice and it started to show on Friday. The boys came out Friday pretty motivated to work on a couple things. It was good. Louisville did a great job in doubles and it got away from us, we had a chance to get it and we didn't but the boys rebounded in singles. Wilmington was also a quality team, and to only lose one set on the day was great.
It's nice to be healthy. We aregetting some consistency going and we are looking forward to another big week." - Coach Bresky
