No. 21 Carolyn Campana continues her winning ways with a straight-set victory over No. 109 Corse in the top singles match.

NOTRE DAME, Ind. – The No. 27 Wake Forest women's tennis team dropped a closely-contested match, 4-3, on the road at Notre Dame Friday afternoon.

After the Fighting Irish (9-6, 4-4 ACC) grabbed the doubles point, senior Eliza Omirou answered quickly for the Demon Deacons (6-6, 2-3 ACC) during singles play. The recently named captain of the Deacs and No. 98 ranked national player captured a quick 6-1, 6-1 victory in the No. 5 singles match.

In the No. 1 singles match, No. 21 Carolyn Campana continued her impressive stretch of play. She captured her second ranked win in the last three matches, defeating No. 109 Corse.

It was her third consecutive straight-set victory, winning 6-2, 7-5 over the Fighting Irish's top player.

Anna Brylin was the third Demon Deacon to claim a singles win, her team-high ninth of the season. After the match was tied at a set a piece, Brylin dominated the third set, winning 6-2 to capture her fourth consecutive singles win.

Quotable

"It was a tough match today. We struggled to get going in the doubles and that ultimately felt like the deciding point. Any road match in this conference is a challenge. We'll have to see if we can turn it around on Sunday." - Coach Wyshner
