FAYETTEVILLE, Ark. -- Wake Forest graduate Hannah Brookover captured Second Team All-America honors on Saturday for her performance in the 3,000 meter run on the final day of the NCAA Indoor Championship.

The Palm Harbor, Fla. native crossed the finish line in a time of 9:28.70 to place 14th in the race. This is the first All-America accolade of her career.

Overall for the meet, Wake Forest had three student-athletes earn All-American honors.

On day one of the NCAA Indoor Championships, redshirt junior Anna Bush earned Second Team All-America honors in the women's pentathlon with a score of 3,984 points. The redshirt junior, who finished in 12th place, won the ACC Championship in this event two weeks ago at the league meet. On day two of the national meet, sophomore Aleeya Hutchins garnered Second Team All-America accolades with her 13th place (2:08.44) finish in the 800 meter run. That was the Pickering, Ontario native's second All-America honor of her career as the standout middle distance runner was named a First Team All-American one year ago as a member of Wake Forest's indoor distance medley relay team.

Two weeks ago at the ACC Indoor Championship, Hutchins broke a Wake Forest indoor track & field record with a personal best time of 2:04.73 and finished fifth in the 800m run. The previous indoor record for the Deacons was set back in 2004 by Nikeya Green with a time of 2:05.31.

Next up, Wake Forest's men's cross country team will compete at the NCAA Championships on Monday, March 15 at 12:30 p.m. The event will be broadcast on ESPNU.

Assistant Coach, Ashley Bastron:
"Hannah (Brookover) stuck her nose in it and competed hard with some of the best women in the nation. She came in ranked 14th and finished 14th in her first national championship race. I'm very proud of the season she has had and the example she sets for all our women back home. I know she wanted to finish a little higher and I am confident she can make that happen at the outdoor national championship in June. This was a great learning experience for her and I am excited for the steeplechase season."
