Wake Forest Travels for Two ACC Matches

No. 12 Demon Deacons play Clemson and No. 35 Georgia Tech on the road.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 12 Wake Forest men's tennis team returns to action for two ACC road trips to Clemson on Friday and No. 35-ranked Georgia Tech on Sunday. First serve from Clemson is slated for 5 p.m. and first serve at Georgia Tech is set at 1 p.m.
Since the start of the 2016-17 season, Wake Forest has a 30-5 record in away matches. This includes an impressive 18-5 record over the past three seasons.

LAST TIME OUT
- The Wake Forest men's tennis team picked up two non-conference wins against Furman and Charlotte Sunday afternoon at Wake Forest Tennis Center.
- Individually, 10 different Deacs picked up wins in singles play as senior Eduardo Nava improved to 10-3 with two wins on the day while Henri Squire, Siddhant Banthia and junior Robert Maciag collected their 11th win.
- In doubles, Maciag moved to 6-3 with two victories coming with Adam Ambrozy and Rrezart Cungu. Banthia has paired with Matthew Thomson in doubles and the duo stand at 12-3 after Sunday's matches.
- Clemson enters Friday's match with a record of 7-9, 1-6 ACC only picking up two wins in their last eight.
- Friday's meeting will be the 61st time the programs have gotten together, with Wake Forest holding a 32-29 series lead and winning the last 10 matchups.
- The last times the programs met, the Deacs swept the Tigers, 7-0, in Clemson and was in the midst of what would become a 19-match win streak towards the end of the 2019 dual season.
- Clemson currently has one singles player (No. 75 Carlos Kelaidis) and four pairs (No. 50 Teodor Giusca and Yizhou Liu, No. 60 Ryuhei Azuma and Spencer Whitaker, No. 78 Ryuhei Azuma and Jacob Jahn, No. 80 Teodor Giusca and Spencer Whitaker) ranked by the ITA.
- Coming into Sunday's match, Wake Forest and Georgia Tech are tied in the all-time series between the Deacs and the Yellow Jackets, 23-23. A win on Sunday would be Wake Forest's 11th-straight win over Georgia Tech since 2012.
- The Yellow Jackets are 9-6, 3-5 ACC winning three of their last four. Only loss in that time came from the hands of the No. 3 Virginia, 5-2.
- Georgia Tech currently has two singles players (No. 25 Andres Martin, No. 52 Marcus McDaniel) and two doubles pairs (No. 39 Marcus McDaniel and Pablo Schelcher, No. 43 Marcus McDaniel and Andres Martin) ranked by the ITA.
STREAKING SQURE
- Sophomore Henri Squire has knocked off four-straight ranked opponents this season and has won five consecutive singles matches.
- The Dusseldorf, Germany native was announced as the ACC Singles Player of the Week in back-to-back weeks. With the recent ITA rankings announced, Squire was placed at No. 8 spot in the entire nation.
