Demon Deacons Travel to Miami for Friday Clash

The No. 26 Wake Forest women’s tennis team hits the road for a top-30 matchup with the No. 29 Hurricanes in Miami.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 26 Wake Forest women's tennis team travels for a match with No. 29 Miami Friday afternoon.

The first serve in the matinee is scheduled for 11 a.m. ET against the Hurricanes (8-5, 5-3 ACC) at Neil Schiff Tennis Center. Miami has won five-straight matches heading into Friday including two top-50 victories over Syracuse and Notre Dame.

A win for the Demon Deacons (9-6, 5-3 ACC) on Friday would mark the sixth win in the last seven matches and extend their winning streak to four matches.

Wake Forest will be in search of its second win against the Hurricanes all-time and second win on the road at Miami.

LAST TIME

The No. 29 Wake Forest women's tennis team moved its winning streak to three matches, capturing a victory over Boston College Sunday afternoon at Wake Forest Tennis Center.

  • No. 98 Eliza Omirou secured a quick straight-set win on court five, moving the lead to 2-1 over Boston College. 
  • Anna Campana played clincher on court two with her second ranked victory of the weekend, defeating No. 76 Long in straight-set fashion, 6-1, 6-1.

NEXT UP

The Deacs return home to the Wake Forest Tennis Center Sunday, facing Old Dominion. 

The first serve for Sunday is set for 1 p.m.
