Fifteen Deacs Land on 2020 NFHCA Division I National Academic Squad

Wake Forest was represented by 15 field hockey student-athletes with a 3.3 GPA or higher.
BROCKPORT, N.Y. - Fifteen Wake Forest field hockey student-athletes were named to the 2020 National Field Hockey Coaches Association (NFHCA) National Academic Squad.
Madison Baciuska, Abby Carpenter, Olivia Corthals, Grace Delmotte, Maggie Dickman, Elisha Evans, Nat Friedman, Lilly Lancaster, Meike Lanckohr, Hannah Maxwell, Meredith Medvetz, Anne Van Hoof, Laia Vancells, Kennedy Wainwright and Eleanor Winants all garnered national recognition for their immense academic achievements while playing a 11-game fall schedule.
To earn this NFHCA distinction, student-athletes must post at least a 3.3 cumulative GPA through the opening semester of the 2020-21 academic calendar.
Through three games this spring, the No 11 Deacs have posted a 2-1 record, outscoring conference opponents by a tally of 7-3. Additionally, Hannah Maxwell (Offensive Player of the Week) and Tori Glaister (Defensive Player of the Week) have reeled in honors from the Atlantic Coast Conference for their individual efforts.
Wake Forest takes the turf at Kentner Stadium for the final time in the 2020-21 season on Saturday, when the Deacs take on Virginia in an ACC matchup at noon.
The Deacs close out the 2020-21 campaign with a pair of ACC games on the road. Wake Forest first travels north to take on Syracuse on April 2, before traveling to Louisville two weeks later on April 17.
