
Wake Forest to Face Virginia Tech on Senior Day

The No. 30 Wake Forest women’s tennis team is scheduled to play the Hokies on Sunday afternoon at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The No. 30 Wake Forest women's tennis team completes its final home weekend of the season on Sunday afternoon against Virginia Tech.
The first serve is set for Noon ET against the Hokies (5-15, 0-12 ACC) at the Wake Forest Tennis Center.
It will be Senior Day for Wake Forest as the Demon Deacons will honor Eliza Omirou before the match. The Nicosia, Cyprus native earned All-America honors a season ago as the Deacs' No. 1 doubles team rose to as high as No. 9 in the ITA doubles rankings.
A win for the Demon Deacons (9-9, 5-5 ACC) on Sunday would mark the Deacs eighth home win on the season. Additionally, Wake Forest is 29-6 against the Hokies all-time and 13-2 all-time in home matches.
Omirou and Peyton Pesavento both contributed to the Deacs last victory over Virginia Tech in 2019 as Wake Forest won, 5-2, as the duo both picked up straight-set singles wins.

LAST TIME
The No. 30 Wake Forest women's tennis team dropped a ranked match versus No. 12 Virginia Friday afternoon at Wake Forest Tennis Center, 5-2.
- The Demon Deacons started off the day strong, taking the doubles point. Carolyn Campana and Eliza Omirou as well as Casie Wooten and Peyton Pesavento had strong showings, picking up two 6-1 victories en route to securing the point.

The Deacs close out their regular season with a pair of road Big 4 challenges at North Carolina and Duke.
The first serve for Friday against the Tar Heels is set for 11 a.m.
