
Wake Forest Set for Big 4 Clash at No. 1 North Carolina

The No. 31 Wake Forest women’s tennis team is looking for its first road win in Chapel Hill since 2004.
CHAPEL HILL, N.C. - The No. 31 Wake Forest women's tennis team closes out its regular season this weekend with a pair of Big 4 Championship road battles, starting with No. 1 North Carolina on Friday.
The first serve is set for 11 a.m. ET against the top-ranked Tar Heels (22-0, 12-0 ACC) at the Wake Forest Tennis Center. Over the last two seasons, North Carolina is a combined 40-0. In the latest ITA singles rankings, the Tar Heels have seven ranked singles players while also having eight ranked doubles teams.
A win for the Demon Deacons (10-9, 6-5 ACC) on Friday would mark the Deacs first win over North Carolina since 2007 and the first on the road since 2004.
Last season, the Demon Deacons were the lone team to take the doubles point off the Tar Heels with victories from Carolyn Campana and Chandler Carter over No. 15 Jones and Sanford, 6-3, and Saby Nihalani and Anna Brylin closed out the No. 3 doubles match, 6-4.

The No. 30 Wake Forest women's tennis team picked up a conference win versus Virginia Tech, 6-1, on Senior Day, Sunday afternoon at Wake Forest Tennis Center.
- Peyton Pesavento and Eliza Omirou picked up quick straight-set wins advancing the lead to 3-0 early on.
- A straight-set win from Brooke Killingsworth clinched the match for Wake Forest and gave them a 4-1 lead with two matches left.
