The No. 32 Wake Forest women’s tennis team is set to face Syracuse in the opening round of the ACC Championships Thursday morning in Rome, Ga.

ROME, Ga. - The No. 32 Wake Forest women's tennis team opens up postseason play Thursday morning in the second round of the ACC Championships against Syracuse in Rome, Ga.

The Demon Deacons are the No. 8 seed in the conference tournament while the Orange enter the event as the No. 9 seed.

The first serve is set for 10 a.m. ET against the Orange (7-10, 5-8 ACC) at the Rome Tennis Center at Berry College.

This marks the second meeting between the two schools this season as Wake Forest walked away with the 6-1 victory over Syracuse in Winston-Salem earlier this spring. The Demon Deacons captured all five of their singles victories in straight sets including Carolyn Campana's 7-5, 7-6 (7-3) win over now-ranked No. 12 Kanapatskaya.

A win for the Demon Deacons (10-11, 6-7 ACC) would see the team advance for the fifth consecutive event. Wake Forest has advanced at least one round in the tournament every year since the 2016 event.

There was no ACC Championship in 2020 due to the COVID-19 shortened season.

ITA RANKINGS

Heading into postseason, Wake Forest ranked as the No. 32 team in the nation with a pair of ranked singles players and a pair of ranked doubles teams:
