Demon Deacons Ready to Tee It Up at NCAA Regionals

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. - The Wake Forest women's golf begins NCAA Regional play Monday morning. The Deacs are the No. 1 seed in the 18-team field that includes six top 25 teams in the latest GolfStat rankings.
 
Wake Forest is currently ranked No. 3 in GolfStat and No. 2 in Golfweek. They finished third at ACC Championships April 17 after falling to Florida State in the semifinals of match play.
 
They won two team titles and two individual titles this season. The Deacs took home the team title and Rachel Kuehn took home the individual title at the Palmetto Intercollegiate in February and won the team title at the Big Four match play event in March. Freshman Mimi Rhodes took home the individual title at the Cavalier Match Play event earlier this month.
 
Course
The Stanford regional will be played at the par-71, 6,291-yard Stanford Golf Course in Stanford, Calif. with Stanford serving as the host institution.
 
Located in the foothills above the Stanford University Campus, the Stanford Golf Course is consistently rated one of the finest courses in the world. The course is open to current Stanford University faculty/staff, students, members, alumni and their guests. Throughout the years, Stanford has hosted many intercollegiate and non-collegiate events, including U.S. Open Qualifying, Women's NCAA Championships, NCAA Regionals, Pac-12 Championships and the USGA Junior Amateur Qualifying.
 
Format
There will be three rounds of stroke play over three days. The top six teams and the top three individuals of non-advancing teams from the Regional will advance to NCAA Championships in Scottsdale, Arizona May 21-26 at Grayhawk Golf Club.
