Eduardo Nava Named to ACC All-Academic Team

Nava becomes the 18th Demon Deacon to be added to the All-ACC Academic Team, it is his first honor.

GREENSBORO, N.C. -- Wake Forest men's tennis placed graduate Eduardo Nava to the ACC All-Academic team, as announced by the league office on Tuesday.
 
Nava garnered the prestigious honor thanks to a combination of academic and athletic achievements during the 2020-21 campaign. He becomes the 18th Demon Deacon to be added to the All-ACC Academic Team, it is his first honor.  
 
Academic requirements for selection to the All-ACC Academic Team are a 3.0 grade point average for the previous semester and a 3.0 cumulative average during one's academic career. Athletic achievements during the most recent season are also considered in selecting the All-ACC Academic Team.
 
Eduardo Nava, Graduate (MA)
  • Finished the season with a 18-4 record in singles, including four ranked wins with two of those against top-20 foes. 
  • Entered the ITA rankings at No. 38 in singles (Mar. 26) and reached as high as No. 31 (Apr. 23).
  • Was a perfect 4-0 in three-set matches and ended the season with 12 consecutive wins. 
  • Earned Second-Team All-ACC and collected two ACC Weekly honors: Co-Doubles Team of the Week (Mar. 16, 2021) and ACC Men's Tennis Singles Player of the Week (Apr. 6, 2021)
  • Reached the Round of 32 at the NCAA Singles Championships and was one win shy of claiming All-American achievement
  • In doubles, Nava and Henri Squire ended the season with a 13-6 record and rose as high as No. 8 in the rankings, finishing with four ranked wins. The best win of the season came over then-No. 20 Garrett Johns and Sean Sculley of Duke.
