The wide receiver and kick returner was one of four ACC selections for most versatile player in the country.

LOUISVILLE, Ky. - Wake Forest wide receiver and kick returner Donavon Greene, who will unfortunately miss the 2021 season due to an injury sustained during the offseason, was named to the Paul Hornung Award Watch List by the Louisville Sports Commission on Thursday.

In its 12th season, the Hornung Award is given to college football's most versatile player. Despite being out this upcoming year, Greene was still recognized based on a combination of 2020 stats and overall career performance as a pass catcher and returner.

Additionally, Greene is just one of four ACC selections on this year's watch list.

Greene averaged 20.1 yards per reception in 2020, the highest single-season mark in Wake Forest history (min. 25 receptions).

Against Campbell on Oct. 2, the Mount Airy, N.C. native registered a 96-yard kick return touchdown vs Campbell in 2020, the program's first since Kevin Marion in 2007. The 96-yard return tied for sixth in program history…

Over the course of his career, Greene holds a career 19.8 yards per reception average with 42 receptions as well as a 29.75 yards per kick return.

In addition to the Watch List, the Paul Hornung Award Weekly Honor Roll will recognize players whose performances during the regular season meet the award's criteria. Players from both the Watch List and the Honor Roll will be eligible to win the award.

The winner of the 2021 Paul Hornung Award and his family will be honored at the annual Paul Hornung Award dinner at the Galt House Hotel in downtown Louisville in March 2021.
