
Wake Forest Closes Weekend Against Clemson

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C.- Wake Forest resumes conference play Sunday afternoon against Clemson (9-3, 1-0 ACC) at 1 p.m. in Varsity Arena inside Reynolds Gymnasium.
The Demon Deacons (9-3, 0-1 ACC) come into their second ACC contest winning five of their last six matches. In this stretch, Wake Forest is 2-1 at home with wins against North Carolina A&T and Davidson.
Statistically, Wake Forest has remained inside the top 10 in multiple categories since the start of the season. They lead the league in service aces, with 2.32 per set. They are fifth in kills (13.92/set), sixth in hitting percentage (.267) and assists (12.3/set) and are eighth in blocks (2.32/set).
Senior Andrea Fuentes still leads the league in assists, averaging 11.46 per set, and is third in service aces with .51 per set. Freshman Kalani Whillock leads the league in digs, with 4.41 per set and sophomore Olivia Franke is eighth in hitting percentage (.361).

The Deacs will square off against Clemson at 1 p.m. Sunday in Varsity Arena inside Reynolds Gymnasium. The match will stream live on ACC Network Extra.

Admission into Varsity Arena in Reynolds Gymnasium is free for all Wake Forest students and volleyball spectators. In accordance with city and state regulations, masks are required at all times while indoors on the Wake Forest University campus.

While proof of vaccination is not currently required for spectators, we encourage vaccinations for all. The Wake Forest volleyball team hosted No.18 Georgia Tech on Friday evening. The Yellow Jackets defeated the Deacons 3-0 in their conference home opener.
The Deacs were led by Kamryn Malloy's and Ashley Slater's 13 and 12 kills that were brought together with Kylie Adams' 14 assists on the night. Slater also registered a service ace for the Deacs. Peyton Suess and Kalani Whillock led the team with 14 digs a piece. Whillock also chipped in four assists. Slater and Olivia Franke each registered a block assist for the Deacs while Suess tallied a block solo of her own.
