Wake Forest begins the season 7-0 for the ninth time in program history.

WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The 10th-ranked Wake Forest men's team was victorious at home Thursday, winning its 7th-straight match, 6-1 over Charlotte at the Indoor Tennis Center. 

Senior Siddhant Banthia clinched the match for Wake Forest (7-0), defeating Charlotte's Vasco Prata in straight sets, 6-3, 6-3.

Banthia and Jurabek Karimov defeated Abhiumanyu Vannemredd and Luke Thomson, 6-2. The Wake Forest doubles clinch came on court 2, as Eduardo Nava and Matthew Thomson topped Thomas Brown and Mikhail Sokolovsky, 6-3, it is the seventh-straight doubles clinch of the year.

The Wake Forest men's tennis team has boasted a 156-23 mark in Winston-Salem. Since the 2016-17 season, the Demon Deacons have posted a remarkable 86-4 record at home.

How It Happened
To start the day, the Deacs opened with the doubles point for the seventh-time this season. Banthia and Karimov defeated Abhiumanyu Vannemredd and Luke Thomson, 6-2. 

The clinch came on court 2, as Nava and Thomson topped Thomas Brown and Mikhail Sokolovsky, 6-3. Ben Draper and Robert Maciag went unfinished after finishing 5-5 against No. 9-ranked Stefanos Savva and Coy Simon. 

In singles action, Efstathiou improved the Deacs lead to 2-0, defeating Sokolovsky in straight sets, 6-1, 6-2. Playing at the No. 1 singles position, Nava's speed and agility were on full display Thursday, as he took down Brown of Charlotte in straight sets, 6-2, 6-1. 

After a dominant, 6-3 first set win by Banthia over Charlotte's Vasco Prata, Banthia took the second set on court six of singles, 6-3, to clinch the match.
