
Wake Forest to Conclude Three-Match Homestand Against Syracuse

The Demon Deacons have never lost to the Orange in Winston-Salem.
WINSTON-SALEM, N.C. – The Wake Forest women's soccer team will conclude a three-match homestand Sunday when the Demon Deacons square off with Syracuse at Spry Stadium.
Kick-off is slated for 12 p.m., and the match will be broadcasted on ACC Network.

Sunday's contest will serve as the annual 'Pink Match' for the Demon Deacons. Pink shakers, wristbands and ribbons will be given away in support of Breast Cancer Awareness. In addition, a 'Pink Match' jersey will be auctioned off beginning Sunday at kick-off. The auction will run until kick-off of the final regular-season home game against Notre Dame (Oct. 23).

New to the ticketing menu this year are five and 10 game FLEX options, giving fans maximum flexibility when choosing which home games to attend. FLEX season ticket members will simply open their digital FLEX account, and add or remove games as they decide which dates they are available to attend. Members may even use multiple admissions for a single game to bring a friend, family member or guest with them. If more FLEX tickets are needed, additional admissions may be purchased through the Wake Forest Ticket Office. FLEX admissions are able to be used for redemption at both men's and women's soccer games.

The Matchup
• Coming off a 4-1 victory over Clemson and a 2-0 loss to Virginia Tech last weekend, Wake Forest will return home to face Syracuse Sunday.
• Last Thursday's victory over Clemson marked the Demon Deacons' first win over a ranked opponent this season.
• Syracuse picked up its first ACC victory in a 3-1 win over Miami last Sunday. The Orange have surpassed the eight-win mark for the first time since 2016.
• Syracuse is unbeaten in road matches this season, boasting a 2-0-0 record.

• Goalkeeper Kaitlyn Parks recorded a season-high five saves, but strikes in the 40th minute and 66th minute from Virginia Tech proved to be the difference, as the Demon Deacons dropped their first home match of the 2022 campaign.
• The Hokies took a 1-0 lead in the 40th minute when Sophie Maltese headed the ball into the net on a cross from Lauren Gogal. Virginia Tech continued to apply pressure offensively and scored again in the 66th minute to take a 2-0 lead.
