Olivia Franke had another efficient performance.

TALLAHASSEE, Fla. – Entering its fourth consecutive road match on Sunday afternoon (Oct. 23), Wake Forest volleyball (12-9, 4-6) matched up against Florida State (14-7, 6-4) during its brief stay in Tallahassee. The Seminoles ultimately finished victorious in a 3-0 sweep (17-25, 20-25, 12-25).

Olivia Franke had the most efficient day for the Deacs, going 7-of-14 on attacks with only one error (.429 attacking percentage). In her last five matches, the junior middle blocker has hit over 40%.

Paige Crawford ended as the team leader in kills (9). Emmy Ogogor and Peyton Suess each added five.

Andrea Fuentes tallied 15 assists and two service aces. Kylie Adams' mark of five assists was a season high.

Emma Farrell and Megan Merril led the defense with eight digs apiece.

How it Happened

  • Emmy Ogogor was the first Deacon to land a kill in the match.

    • Florida State pieced a 3-1 start in set one before Peyton Suess rose from the right side to clock her first attempt.

  • The Seminoles succeeded on four of their next five possessions to go up 7-2, leading to a Wake Forest timeout.

  • Olivia Franke first made a block before knocking two kills, and Ashley Slater followed with one of her own to get the Deacs on track a bit, still down 9-6.

  • Four plays were then traded, and two Seminole service aces gave the host team a 14-8 advantage.

    • After Florida State placed two more on the scoreboard, Wake Forest took another floor break.

  • Paige Crawford took heed in helping build a push for the Deacs, throwing in kills as the team went on a 7-2 run.

    • Florida State suffered from a few mistakes and called two timeouts during the span, while Wake Forest cut into the margin, 19-15.

  • Success on kills shifted the momentum back to the Seminoles' side, resulting in a final 6-1 clip to end the opening period.

  • Florida State won the first set, 25-17.

  • Likewise to set one, Ogogor again was the first Wake Forest individual to swing down a kill in the second.

  • A back-and-forth style composed the frame early, as Andrea Fuentes smoothly delivered an ace to have her Deacons down 6-5.

  • Florida State went on to score three in a row.

  • Franke, Ogogor, and Olivia Murphy each netted kills to keep Wake Forest in it.

    • By the next media timeout, the Deacs were down only three (15-12).

  • Franke and Suess hammered two more balls before Florida State initiated a short surge to up its lead to 20-14 in set two.

  • Suess collected back-to-back kills and Crawford slammed one to give Wake Forest a quick 3-1 burst.

  • However, two kills and an ace by the Seminoles allowed the host to reach match point.

    • Crawford and Franke caused some interruption with a punch, forcing a Florida State timeout.

  • The Seminoles secured the second-set win, 25-20, on a serving error by Wake Forest.

    • Crawford and Franke each had six kills through two sets.

      • The two continued their hits into the third, opening the period with one apiece.

  • Florida State went ahead 6-2 in set three. An error on the team's ensuing serve gave possession back to Wake Forest.

    • A connection between Kylie Adams and Audrey Douglas worked twice to give the Deacs two more points before Crawford flew in once again.

  • Nevertheless, the Seminoles maintained its advantage through attacks and aces to mount a 16-9 lead.

  • Using a final 9-3 run, Florida State took set three on a 25-12 decision and swept the match.

  • Wake Forest fell, 3-0.
